Double Directional LOS Channel Characterization in a Home Environment with Ultra Wideband Signal

This paper presents results from double directional channel measurements in a typical home environment with ultra wideband signal. 100 ray paths were extracted using the SAGE algorithm at the both sides of radio link and they are regarded as dominant propagation phenomena. Then the paths were identified to the real environment, in which clusterization analyses were examined. For the residual components after the extraction of 100 waves, we regarded them as a diffuse components i.e. accumulation of weaker paths and gave several observations on power contents and practical limit of the path extraction by SAGE. In the analysis, a relation between extracted power and array structures was also discussed.

We obtain outer and inner bounds for the IEEE 802.15.3a UWB multiple access relay channel, and also, a diversity gain bound. Finally, we evaluate some results numerically and show that noise correlation coefficients play important role in determining relay position.
